Between the 1986 Topps and 1986 Topps Traded sets, there are a total of 924 cards. Collecting both sets in their entirety is challenging enough, but to actually complete each collection with virtually every card autographed? Well it sounds impossible, yet here it is! Of the 924 cards, 7 are checklists and one is a "Turn Back the Clock" card of Roger Maris, impossible to get signed. Of the 916 remaining cards, every one of them is signed save for card #208 Ramon Romero. Keep in mind, that includes the rookie cards of Barry Bonds and Bo Jackson, every Hall of Famer appearing in the set, with some appearing multiple times, and including Willie Mays and Frank Robinson on "Turn Back the Clock" cards, and each of the Pete Rose record breakers cards. Also included are difficult autographs of players and coaches that passed away prematurely: Aurelio Lopez, Donnie Moore, Dick Howser, Alan Wiggins, Bill Martin, Kirby Puckett, Darrell Porter and Joe DeSa, whose passing came in December, 1986. Detroit Tigers second baseman Doug Flynn claims to have signed a total of 5 cards from this set for a charity raffle and will never sign another in honor of his departed friend who chaired the event, making it perhaps the most difficult one of all. An incredible offering that will never come again!
