Drafted in the 9th round by the Steelers, Johnny Unitas was cut from the team without ever throwing a pass in a Pittsburgh uniform. Picked up by the Colts the next season to be used as a backup, Unitas went on to NFL immortality. Presented is a NM/MT specimen of Unitas from the 1961 Topps set, lightly centered toward the right side with NM/MT corners and supported by an unusually problem-free glowing yellow backdrop. A fantastic example of the always difficult card #1.
