Measuring 6 1/2 x 8 1/2, rookie sensation Mickey Mantle readies himself for a game in his Yankees road uniform on this laser photo from the Sporting News Archive Collection. Unfortunately, we can't see the back of the jersey to identify if this was a rare photo of Mantle wearing his original "#6" when he joined the Bronx Bombers. Developed at a later date directly from the original photographers negative, it's a wonderful shot of "The Mick" as a teenager.
