The first reliever to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame, knuckleballer Hoyt Wilhelm helped define the role of the modern day closer. A 29-year old rookie in 1952, Wilhelm managed a 21-year career and retired at the age of 49. This 1952 Brooklyn Dodgers ticket stub is from Wilhelm's first major league appearance on April 18th, pitching 1/3 of an inning. PSA authenticated.
