Considered the first true superstar of the pugilistic arts, John L. Sullivan A. K. A. the "Boston Strong Boy" amassed a 40-1 record with 34 knockouts. Sullivan appears on this 19th-century cabinet card, the best one we've come across at VG/EX overall, sporting a well-dressed Sullivan in a time period photo that is mounted onto a thick cardboard backing.
This original 4 1/4" x 6 1/2" cabinet card includes an extensive biography on the reverse. A great relic for the vintage boxing collector.
