With St. Louis the home of Anheuser Busch and Milwaukee the home of Miller Brewing, the 1982 World Series became known as the "Suds Series" with the Cardinals coming back from a 3-2 deficit and emerging victorious in 7 games. The offered trophy was one of several given to members of the Cardinals' front office and measures just short of a foot tall at its highest point. The World Series press pin for each team is mounted within the circle of team flags that line the circumference of the base, which is approximately 7" in diameter. A gold band stating "ST. LOUIS CARDINALS WORLD CHAMPIONS 1982 surrounds the outside the base with a Balfour manufacturer's tag on the bottom. A 1982 World Series program is included. In high-grade NM/MT condition overall, this fantastic specimen is the end result to one of the more thrilling match-ups in championship history.
